Giggles

I *know* how many times I have blogged before about dress ups but my girls love to dive into the dress up box at least once a week.  I'm not sure who has the most fan, but I would put my money on Monet who loves to dress up her younger sister.

Part of Lily's birthday parent from MrL's parents was a Dora dress up outfit.  Lily was not too sure at first but lately it has been getting a good run.  I laugh when I see her wear the Dora wig as I imagine that's what she would look like as a brunette.

Monet does like to get involved too.  However she's growing up so much and those legs of hers are getting longer and longer.  It's getting harder to find outfits to fit such a tall girl...

I am pretty sure that's part of the reason why Monet likes to play 'schools' with her younger sister.  Meet Monet's alter-ego, Miss Lulu.  (A glimpse of the future I imagine...)

And here's a giggle for you all.  My Hawaiian hula girls, cross with a clown...

The Little One Has New Shoes...

...and I desperately want some for my own feet, though I doubt I'll ever find them in a European Size 41.

Not the greatest photo...
Miss Lily loves them so much that she insisted on wearing them practically straight as we walked out the shop (thanks Mothercare) and got in the car.  Back at home it was nap time and she had a good two hour sleep with her little red shoes sprinkled with white flowers on.  No way did she want them off her feet.  And no wonder, they are lovely and grippy on the soles and are soft and comfortable (looking) on the inside.

Cute eh?

Sing

There are serious moments when, as a parent, my heart sings.  Those of you who have children (and maybe some of you who are not parents) hopefully can identify with me saying this.  It sings when I see either of my girls do something - nothing in particular, just something.

Take the other day, for example.

I got a phone call from the School Nurse saying that Monet was not well so I immediately dropped everything, scooped up Lily and drove to get her.

Back home, Monet showered, put her pyjamas on and went to bed for some well needed rest.  Upon waking and declaring she was feeling a little brighter, Lily and I joined her in her bedroom.

Then I witnessed this.

It made my heart sing.  I don't know why, it just did.  Little acts of kindness from big sister to little sister, little sister acting very funny, big sister enjoying little sister and vice-versa.  Nothing out of the ordinary, just something that made my heart sing.

Sometimes things like that happen few and far between, but then sometimes I witness little singing moments every day.

I'm Pretty Sure These Lions Don't Bite

I swear, I saw a couple of lions in the room. One even had a dinosaur tail!

I saw one go that way.

No, look the other way!

Oh! My mistake, it was right in front of me!

Roar!!
