Sing
There are serious moments when, as a parent, my heart sings. Those of you who have children (and maybe some of you who are not parents) hopefully can identify with me saying this. It sings when I see either of my girls do something - nothing in particular, just something.
Take the other day, for example.
I got a phone call from the School Nurse saying that Monet was not well so I immediately dropped everything, scooped up Lily and drove to get her.
Back home, Monet showered, put her pyjamas on and went to bed for some well needed rest. Upon waking and declaring she was feeling a little brighter, Lily and I joined her in her bedroom.
Then I witnessed this.
It made my heart sing. I don't know why, it just did. Little acts of kindness from big sister to little sister, little sister acting very funny, big sister enjoying little sister and vice-versa. Nothing out of the ordinary, just something that made my heart sing.
Sometimes things like that happen few and far between, but then sometimes I witness little singing moments every day.
