Hip-Hop Teething Toddler. (Oh and we're on the move too!)

We're moving in two days time, though the packers are arriving to do all the packing tomorrow and our actual moving date is Thursday. We're not moving far to be honest, about a two minute drive to the compound next door. Prices in Abu Dhabi have dropped (big time), so we're moving into a 5 bed villa (with private pool) and saving over 30,000 dirham in price in the process. Even though our current 4 bedder has dropped in rental price, we will be better off with our own pool to get us through the heat, which will begin once again before we know it. And the perfect thing about these pools in these particular compounds where we are, is that they are all individually temperate controlled. Gotta love that.

And because we live in Abu Dhabi, it may take a bit of time to get rehooked up to the internet again but MrL is already on the case, so fingers crossed.

We have a couple of VIPs arriving in a couple of weeks time (Hello Nanna and Poppy), so we should all be settled in by then.

In other news MissL has really shown what a little character she is. It's pretty amazing that two sisters can be poles aparts personality wise, but gee they love each other. It's very sweet. MissL gets sooooo excited at school pick up time when she spots MissM. It makes me smile. What also makes me smile is MissL's own funky style.

Those photos are NOT set up - she insists on wearing certain 'accessories' most days - today it's a handbag that won't leave her side, along with the constant dummy. Keeps her happy.

So I'll see you on the flip side. Hopefully that flip side isn't too far down the track.

Mild Winter Days

Lucky for me, it seems MissL is a 'sun-smart' kid, more so than her big sister was (& is!) She's forever putting stuff on her head so getting her to cover up with a hat is usually no problem.

The compound we live in has a big play ground for the kids. If it isn't too warm, I tend to get the girls to have a play before like 4pm, when it then becomes a haven to a million nannies/maids and a zillion children. I escape when I can.

When we visited the other day, MissL noticed a friendly (pet) cat. It isn't unusual for feral cats to be around, but this young one sported a dashing pink collar. Both girls were amused, especially the youngest. Should have heard to squeals of delight!

There was also time to have a little run around....

and for MissM to have a swing....

Even though we are in the midst of winter here in the UAE, we try and make the most of days like these, enjoying the great outdoors. However, I am pretty sure this coming summer will be different for us as we are soon moving into a new villa with our own private pool. =)

Abu Dhabi Space Aliens

Yeah, I do worry about my girls sometimes...

But at the best of times (even the worst of times), they can manage to make me, if not laugh, smile.

These aliens are no exception.

I'm not 100% sure who enjoyed the shenanigans more, MissL or her big sister MissM.

Maybe that's what school holidays do to you?

A New Decade.

We saw in the new year with our neighbours and friends, with lots of laughs, a delish feast and someone made an extordinary looking pav. (Why moi? Why, of course!)

One of our neighbour friends used to moonlight as a DJ, so at any opportunity he loves to get out his decks and spin some tunes.

Here's hoping 2011 brings new ambitions and more happiness to you. =)
