Until Next Time...

Monet and I dropped Nanna off at the airport a little over an hour ago, after her 8 day stay.

All I can say is 'Thank God!'...HA! Only kidding!!! As if I would say that about Monet's lovely Nanna.

We had a great time with Marianne and I know she had a great time with us, well, at least that is what she said. I bet she'll be glad to go home and not watch Kid's television and not have to read books out loud to her Grandchild! She'll also be glad to get away from this heat and humidity which began late last week. (You seriously have no idea!)

We did a bit of touring around, a bit of shopping (Esprit in Cairns Central will miss Marianne dearly), swam in the pool most days and ate heaps, which meant I didn't cook at all as we ate out most nights or ate Thai takeaway!

Monet didn't want Nanna to leave which honestly breaks your heart to see a little one who doesn't understand such concepts of 'visiting'. She wasn't happy taking Nanna to the airport (Lyndon is at work so it was I who had the task of dropping Nanna off) and she kept saying on the way home that she wanted Nanna to stay. I solved the problem by stopping and buying a Chocolate Freddo Frog and Dora Drink. Monet liked that. But now I have just heard her say that she wants Nanna here.

Marianne, thanks for a great 8 days. We had your company and spoiling us! You will be missed and not just by Monet...

How wonderful that you had such a wonderful time with Nanna! And that Monet enjoyed her visit so very much! Lovely memories are formed from visits like this!

I had no idea that one could get these Shredder People to come to your home with their truck...! Believe me, if I tried to do this ALL myself...I would still be doing it in 2009!!!! Seriously!
I just hope I can have it ALL ready for them...Once you start....Well, it is in many ways a lifetime of "STUFF"...and remember, I've been around for a lot of years! (lol)

Well, I was just here, and Michele sent me back!! LOL!
The other very nice thing about Nanna's visit is that you didn't have to do a lot of cooking! HOORAY to that!

...and came here also to check out this blog. Ahhhh - makes me sad for home.

I have a three year old son who also struggles with the concepts of 'visiting' though he's getting much better. We haven't been home to Cairns since August last year, for my Goddess daughter's first birthday.

Was wondering where the beach photo was taken?? Shall be back often .. and thanks for stopping by to visit my blog. So nice that I dont have to explain things like Tripod or the Side Show!

So..what did you cook for dinner tonight then, assuming you didn't have takeaway again? Or did you!

I hope Monet isn't missing Nanna Marianne too much.

It sounds like you all had a wonderful time! Kind of like an 8 day party :)

Glad you had fun but is always heightens the sadness of having saying goodbye when the visit ends doesn't it? Pity a chocolate frog and a fruit drink don't do the same for adults!

Speaking as a Nana, as hard as it is to leave, it is nice to be missed. And I am sure Monet's Nana is missing those kid shows and books more than you think.

That all sounds so wonderful and I'm sure Nanna is missing you all just as much as you're missing her. And... you made me cry! I guess I'm more ready for our visit 'home' with all the family than I thought.
